This last week they had their nine month
check up which didn't involve shots. Yay! Avery is 17 lbs in the 30th
percentile and 15th percentile in height and Adelyn is a little over 16
lbs in the 25th percentile and 12th percentile in height. (For two
chunky girls, I am always surprised that they are not higher in weight
percentile :) I am so grateful for these healthy girls and the fun 9
months we have had with them. I forgot my camera but we got a few pictures with a phone while we were there.

We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. It was so nice to just relax and have a free day together! I love having a day to remember what amazing people have sacrificed their lives for our freedom and all those who have come before us that have made our lives easier. We hiked up rock canyon and then spent the rest of the day with family. Each of our families had a barbeque so it was really fun. I'm sad I didn't have my camera most of the day. Here are a few from when I had it and from Barb's phone.
My amazing grandparents. My grandfather fought in WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam. My grandma was incredibly patriotic.
This last week we visited Uncle Benjy at work where they had baby ducks, chicks and turkeys. The girls were very curious.
Last week we also had a picnic at Nielson's Park and fed the ducks.

I might just have a new favorite holiday. Mother's Day is the BEST! I got spoiled all weekend starting Friday morning. The girls both woke up early to eat so I fed both of them and let them play on our bed and they ended up falling back asleep on me! This NEVER happens. If I am lucky enough to have one that wants to cuddle up to me, the other one keeps her awake and from going to sleep on me. I was so glad Tia was there to document it so that i know it wasn't a dream. I was in HEAVEN.
Tia spoiled me the rest of the weekend. He took me up to City Creek on
Saturday where I got a few new things. It was fun to go there as a
family; shopping has never been one of his favorite things, so it was
really nice he took me there because he knows I love it. I also am a
little indecisive (ok, very) so I wasn't fast but he was super patient.
These shoes were in Baby Gap. We had to get a picture with them but
weren't about to spend over $20 each (on sale!) for a few times they
would wear them.
Later that night we went to the
Timpview Dance Concert and it was so fun to see all our students from
last year. Whitney, the person who did the program with us last year was
there so we went out with her after. It was so fun to catch up! When we
went to pick the girls up from my mom's, this was on their car seats.
I thought that was so clever and sweet! Thanks Mom!
On
Sunday I got to sleep in while Tia got the girls' ready for church. I
think the girls favorite holiday is Mother's Day as well. This is why:

Notes
from Tia are some of my favorite things in the world. At church we had
such a wonderful sacrament meeting. When we got home, I just relaxed
while Tia made me breakfast for dinner which included chocolate chip
waffles. It was delicious. Isn't he cute?

The number of mothers in their family
has grown a lot this year. We had a second yummy dinner and they gave me a
beautiful red rose and some jewelry sets.
Not only
was Mother's Day wonderful because I was incredibly spoiled, it was a
wonderful day to reflect on how blessed I am to be a mother of two sweet
girls, and especially stay home with them. I am so blessed to have a
husband who works so hard so that I can be home with the girls, because he knows that is
important for them and me. And I am so so grateful for all my own mother
has done for me. Having my own kids makes me realize all my mom has sacrificed for me. I am also grateful for all the other mothers who have made a difference in
my life! Thank you!
Yay for more cousins! We have been so lucky to be around two adorable newborns. There is something so special about going to meet a baby fresh from heaven! These two girls are so sweet. Both babies have such perfect little faces and such distinct features.
Two weeks ago, Abish had Langi Vaelua Reid. Her father, Peter, is Tongan and Langi means "heaven" in Tongan. She has beautiful thick, curly black hair and such a sweet face.
All the cousins so far...
Just a few days ago, Heather had Lilia Lynn Dayton. She is so tiny and it is crazy they have three kids now. She also has pretty black hair and such big blue eyes already!
Heather was nice enough to hold Adelyn who tried to rip her IV out. Ouch! Sorry!
As mentioned before, these girls love taking baths. Avery especially splashes water like crazy. And I think naked babies are just the cutest.

We went to the park a few days ago and the girls loved it. They love being outside and I am so excited to share a fun summer with them (especially because I didn't do much outside last summer :)

And....last but not least, this is one of my favorite pictures of them. This is the face strangers see when they stop to talk to them. Adelyn and Avery just stare at them with these sober looks. They look like such little onery girls! I try to tell them that they do know how to smile...We will have to work on being polite and smiling at strangers when they get older. :)
